I want to make you aware of recent thefts involving vehicles and open garages in our neighborhood. The suspect may live in our community. For your safety, please do not approach or confront anyone you believe is involved.
What to do if you see suspicious activity
- Call the Elyria Police Department immediately. (440-323-3302)
- If you believe someone is in immediate danger or a crime is in progress, call 911.
- If it is not an emergency, report details to the EPD using their non‑emergency line (440-323-3302).
- Provide as much information as possible: location, description of the person or vehicle, direction of travel, and any photos or video you may have taken from a safe distance.
Precautions to take
- Lock your vehicles and remove valuables or keep them out of sight.
- Keep garage doors closed and secured when not in use.
